The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing, managing and implementing health and safety policies and programs to ensure proper systems are in place on a solar PV installation construction site.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in health and safety management.

  • Certified Safety Professional (Competent Person, Safety Officer) per CFR 1926.500,501,502,502.

The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and support for environmental engineering and sciences projects and programs, including general civil engineering, energy efficiency, conservation and sustainability in the built environment. Emphasis is on the physical and human environments.

Scientific and engineering principles will be used and applied to achieve PEER’s Mission and to support Senior Engineers and Project Managers in solving our clients’ environmental problems with transformative, sustainable, and appropriate solutions. Passing the NCEES ‘Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam’ is required in order to hold this position. Or, the candidate must be on track to take and pass the examination. Note: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is generally the first step in the process to becoming a Professional Licensed Engineer (P.E.). As the candidate progresses in their career, other professional and management certifications may be required.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. A master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) license is preferred. Otherwise, must be on track to obtain a EIT certificate within 24 months of hire, either by testing or by reciprocity.

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in Civil Engineering with focus on environmental engineering and sciences.

  • Strong environmental engineering and sciences background, including knowledge of project phases (planning, administration, field studies, conceptual and detailed project design, program and project documentation, field inspections and oversight, project closeout).

  • Ability to develop project/program appropriate planning and engineering design drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to perform GIS analysis, Access Programming and oversee AUTOCAD drafting to develop plans, is a plus.

  • Must possess excellent oral and written skills, technical problem-solving ability, strong data analysis skills and excellent computer skills.

  • Certifications desired that are appropriate for area of concentration.

  • Sustainable Energy certifications are highly desired (e.g., CEM, LEED, etc.)

The Director is responsible for providing leadership and management of and technical direction to the water and wastewater engineering and sciences section and team. The Director must be able to set high and achievable performance and operational standards for the team; and, encourage the team to meet goals efficiently and professionally. 

The Director is responsible for leading the team to perform planning and feasibility studies, design and preparation of engineering plans and specifications, cost estimates, operations and management programs, value engineering, construction management and project closeout; vertical and horizontal asset management; and energy management services.

Additional responsibilities entail training and mentoring staff; being an active participant in strategic planning initiatives; marketing and business planning, development and execution; proposal preparation; client outreach; and active participation in professional organizations.   

    Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

    • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Ph.D. is preferred. 
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is desired.
    • Minimum 12 - 15 years of demonstrated experience in engineering modeling, planning and design for water and wastewater systems and associated piping, appurtenances, and related systems (storage, reuse, energy management). 
    • Must have the ability to prepare and review detailed engineering design drawings and specifications.
    • Must have the ability to manage and direct AUTOCAD operations.
    • Must have proven and demonstrated technical grasp of water engineering and sciences.
    • Must have technical experience with scientific studies and engineering design skills in the water media with an emphasis on potable water, storm water, domestic wastewater, and fresh waters of the US.
    • Must have demonstrable experience managing people and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written skills, with the ability to analyze and solve technical problems. 
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other software applications.
    • Knowledge of pipeline inspection, rehabilitation and condition assessment is highly desired.  
    • Board Certification in Environmental Engineering and Science (AAEES), active membership in professional organizations such as ASCE, AWWA, WEF, etc. is desired.
